When the Numbers Make Sense

Very often we are skeptical about the numbers that the government churns out about our GDP growth, the reduction in crime rate, the number of racial composition in the civil service and every branch of the government, the supposedly rich people versus the poor, scholarship quota, even how many cows were actually reared and slaughtered by an agency to claim to be the best cattle breeder in the world, the poverty rate, inflation, our debt and even if we are bankrupt or not.

Even how much our military hardware cost or how much rich a certain Forever Love shOpping Madame is to buy siapa bikin beg or spending like some queen down under when its people are told to tighten their belt, or if the assets declared by politicians are really true, or even how many times a boinking against nature constitute a consensual one and which number is considered forced.... all these numbesr games are really just numbers and difficult to verify its authenticity.

The latest DNA dating to claim being the first haji adam and nur eve of the human race is still questionable at least outside BolehLand or UMNO.

We have been also hearing a lot lately of how best BolehLand is for this or that and potential to be this or that! how rich our poor people are compared to yemen, ethopia, even nigeria or timbaktu!

Then we have BR1M and how rich the government is in giving our RM2 billion or so or how cheap Kedai1Malaysia prices are compared to Cold Storage or even Russia we can supposed, huh?

And our government dispute any international ranking about our corruption level, competitiveness, university standards, debts if they do not jive with the government's own shioksendiri figures.

Now when we are told that our neighbour whom we think are third world and miskin Indonesia has more FDI than Bolehland, what is our reasoning or is it excuse.

Indonesia’s foreign direct investment (FDI) hit a record US$19.3 billion (RM59.8 billion) last year, the highest in the region, and is expected to rise another 25 per cent this year despite the gloomy global economy. In contrast, Malaysia only pulled in about US$10 billion (RM31 billion) last year, same as Vietnam, considered among the other top growing economies in Southeast Asia.

Listen to the statement below by our Finance Minister II report in the MSMedia today

On reports of Indonesia receiving RM59.8 billion in foreign direct investment last year compared with Malaysia's RM31 billion, he said foreign investors were attracted to the republic's high economic potential due to its huge population.   "Investors were attracted by the population size, that's why Indonesia garnered more investments than us," Ahmad Husni said, adding that Indonesia was "still a developing country dependent on labour, while Malaysia has entered an era of creative technology and innovation."... NST

Isn't it an arrogant statement making disparaging remarks about our neighbour! Our tiny red dot down under Republic has smaller population and having more investment and investors interest!!!

What has population size got to do with FDI huh?

And what does we have entered or does it mean penetrated into an era of creative technology and innovation means? What the heck does it mean we are into creative technology and innovation when we can't even produce our own motor cycle engine or car engine!

One thing for sure our leaders on both side of the divide are creative liars that might be the reason foreign investors can smell the stink, skunk and lies in those sweet talk. While our local fellows are all going goo goo over the creative talk. We are the world's best at churning out innovative scandal and conspiracy! Our scientific explanation of DNA finding its way conveniently to some crevices is astounding, so is the loco, proto I mean Malay origin of man!

Is the Minister saying we can do things ourselves and don't need any foreign fellows to invest or kacau our world's best intellectual property and ideas. The world famous pendrive USB thumbdrive Malaysian investor had to go to Taiwan to have his ideas bear fruit!!!

We are still in denial mode!!!

So BN strategy is to produce more babies to get FDI we can supposed seeing that one race seems to produce more babies than another. So we can call them the FDI babies huh?

Perhaps this kind of illogical logic is believable to the Felda settlers and rural folks. Won't be surprised our leaders will scream racial discrimination at foreigners for not putting their money here but prefer to park it at Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and even Myanmar hah!

When numbers are glaring in our faces and make sense, our leaders are trying to come with their no sense nonsense in finding excuses and coming up with creative and innovative spin... from foreign PR advisers? to worm their way out of the truth.

They are like our opposition fellows. When things go their way they sing praises but when it doesn't they hurl curses!

While we should work even harder to get better results, we make fun of other country! Time we wake up ourselves even if our leaders still think they are in heavenly Putrajaya where everything seems wonderfully okay. In fact, we all have woken up with reality. Just that our leaders try to show we are all going on fine. If we are really in good health and shape, why the need to hand our free money. Everyone should be able to feign for themselves right? After all, the government has assured us we are the 'best in the world' what, right?
