It is interesting to see how the two political parties present themselves at least the external facade when they have their party assembly or meeting or when meeting the voters.
BolehLand folks are used to the pomp and pageantry of BN AGMs. Primp and proper party uniform, lots of symbolism where mandatory weapons such as keris are being revered greater than the Almighty most times it seems. Then you have those typical 'kerajaan' type of protocol and the flower corsage where great pains are spent on money, time and even the number of petals denote hierarchy. Then there is the sitting protocol down to the size of chair and for first ladies even specified cushions and H2U sky juice are important checklist to adhere to.
Some typical setting of UMNO Assembly from various sources below will show you the discipline, style, uniformity, primp and proper party they are. Lots of money spent on the event agency to make sure the world sees the feeling of 'order, power and great leadership' and mandatory pledges of loyalty and total devotion to the party leaders even greater than the Almighty most times it seems. All these military and stage acts to show to the world what the party wields, no? Would you vote for this party where form, pomp and pageantry, protocol and hierarchy and patronage are advocated, spends millions on foreign PR agencies and above the line advertisements, MSMedia and broadcasting channels to list their manifesto and achievements and most times feudal in nature are important?
Their assured future!
On the other side, we have the hopefuls and some think day dreamers given the supposedly dismal job they are doing in the States they govern, at least that is what the MSMedia and the other party make them out to be.
The meetings by PKR or Pakatan have some semblance of order at least the numbers turn out. But compared to the pomp, pageantry and millions spent by the BN fellows, our Pakatan leaders have to make do with modest setting and even attire.
Though the leaders give due greater respect to the Almighty than to their own leaders and protocol, such allegiance are mocked by the BN party who will label such acts as a hypocritical show of piety.
Below are some pictures of how the Pakatan fellows assembly look like. Compared to the primp and proper protocol pageantry, hands salute, keris weaving and even raising of flags of leaders alongside the national flag, our Pakatan fellows are nightmare to fashion consultants who will probably be jobless if they ever come to power! Of course, voters prefer substance to form and the external facade is secondary to the primary struggle they are advocating. Actually the primary struggle is gain power first, same like the other party, no?
So given the kind of rather sloppy attire, practices open door dialogue and accessibility, always feeling victimised by race, sex or religion, at times directionless leadership, so poor can't even have money to help their taxpaying voters (i.e. tax given to federal government), religious fanatics lurk among them and advocating principles over form, uses YouTube to publicise their manifesto, would you vote for them?
Future assured with them?
