Today we are reminded it's Bosses Day!
Odd many of us employees are not aware there is such a day. We tend to give undue attention to Secretary's Day and Labour Day with the recipients being recognised and treated.
Bosses Day seems a non event, considering that most of us all owe our economic existence due to some being the boss and spending his money and taking the risks.
So do I say thank you to my boss who is actually paid millions a year and without the employees where the company always say are the greatest asset, the boss would not be able to get that much pay right?
Of course it's a give and take between boss the management and employees. Bosses provide some form of employee value proposition to their workers and workers are duty bound to spend a certain number of hours and commitment to bring in the money so to speak. Or else, we are not going to get food on our table or buy that branded stuff or get a credit card to spend beyond our means right?
So it is permissible and rightly so that we should thank our bosses for giving us a job and treating us nicely well we hope most do.
Well there are some workers who are ambivalent about appreciating their bosses. Especially the mean ones and those who abuse them or treat them like slaves or promote slave like working condition, in short exploiting human beings for their own greed and what not.
Then there are bosses who don't come out with their own money but used other people's money instead. These type of bosses are the politicians who tell the voters they are their servants, the politicians that is. And without the people they are nothing. And they remind the people they are the boss once every four or five years. After that, they make themselves like kings and some even turn to playing God. And the supposedly real bosses are being whacked by the 'servants'.
Worse, these servants demand utmost loyalty from their 'bosses' and use the laws they create to protect their 'ketuanan' and power over the people.
In short, the real bosses are made to kow tow to the supposedly servants!
Since it's election fever these days in BolehLand, our political bosses are once again reminding us they are humble servants coming bearing gifts, a million here for this, a promise of a million for that and millions more if the boss votes the servant in and enthrone him as the no1 big boss.
Even when election is in the air, the servant boss, the politician that is, is asking the boss-servants, the voters that is, to be grateful for what the bosses have done for them. Never mind if these servant boss don't use a sen of theirs but the voter's contribution to build roads, homes or hand out money to them once every four year! They want to be respected and for the boss servants to kowtow to them for doing them a favour developing the nation.
Is it not the job of politicians to develop the nation with the money entrusted to them? Are they telling us they are doing us a favour because they have every right to take what they want because the people voted them to get rich and steal the people's contributions?
It was recently reported that No2 of No1Malaysia was extolling all the good and lately cool stuff that 1Malaysia has done for the people and that the people should be grateful to the BN government for the many efforts they have done to improve our lives.
But why are the leaders grumbling they are not appreciated? If they think they are not up to mark or honest enough to use people's money entrusted to them to make everyone's lives better, then these politicians should just fold up and go on retirement and let others do the job humbly too, hah!
We are still being reminded each day that the Budget is nothing about corruption, i.e. vote buying feel good election budget.
But of late these very people are telling the folks where they visit about the over 100 cool good goodies in the Budget for them! This alert service the BN fellows are doing seem to be done every four or five years right?
Anyway, if our servant boss ask us to be grateful, there is some validity in BN's humble request for us to kowtow and thank them for saving us.
For one, we are grateful we are not all put behind bars for asking for a clean government?
Some are grateful for the moment, they are not put behind bars for wanting to call their God in a language they are familiar with.
There are yet some who are grateful they are not put behind bars for holding gatherings, compared to those who where whacked.
We are grateful for BN they didn't use live bullets to whack the Bersih marchers but chose a less lethal method, chemical laced water, tear gas and batons!
We are grateful for BN who is going to prosecute and persecute the corporal who went out of line while the rest followed procedure when they whacked and hosted the others!
We are grateful for BN to give out billions to those who can't afford, never mind their programmes have led to unemployment or unmarketable graduates.
We are grateful for BN for giving handouts and rescuing businesses that are of the majority race to prevent the other races from being accused by the handout groups for stealing their job, money, even their God or their faithful!
We are grateful for BN for allowing unhindered flight of good brains and talents because meritocracy is a racist word!
We are grateful to BN for making history an interesting subject as we don't need to learn about conquerors, colonisers or imperialists or having to learn about treaties, the history of other races but confine learning history to focus on the glorious deeds and triumph of one race and religion.
We are grateful to BN for allowing corruption to reign over the land or else they would not have created jobs by setting up MACC and other crime fighting institutions to combat corruption.
We are grateful to BN for perpetuating the handout mentality and practicing discriminatory policies or else a large segment will be poor and the nation will not be able to achieve its 2020 developed high income society and status.
We are grateful to BN for holding ballotting of homes and building homes for those who can't afford finally as if the simple kampong homes does not fit into the developed status and high income society they are building.
We are grateful to BN because without them, we would all be living in the jungle. Instead, virgin lands are being raped, tribes displaced and even incarcerated for protecting their ancestral land, where expensive homestead for the elite few can be built.
We are grateful to the BN because they are spending the money the people are taxed or else having too much surpluses is useless. It's no use keeping cash in the vault, better to spend spend spend and then show to the people the vault is empty because BN has spent it all for the good of the people. And it's payback time for the people to pay more taxes and be taxed to fill up the vaults again no?
We are grateful to the BN for making all of us one tracked minded and behave like the obedient wives club to live our lives according to the dictates of the BN club. Anyone deviating from it are considered disloyal, unpatriotic and even committing sedition against King or sacrilege against one God! We are grateful that one track mind and allegiance to one race, party and leader is the ultimate solution for justice, peace and prosperity in BolehLand, eh?
Gosh there must be so much truth in the demand from our BN leaders that the people must really kow tow and thank BN for?
While we celebrate Bosses Day once a year, our BN leaders want to celebrate it every day of the year! If a leader demands that the subjects must be grateful to him for giving them 'life' and purpose of living, isn't he making himself like God where all things and purpose of those beneath him owe their existence to Him?
Even if these leaders are god fearing people and dare not equate themselves as god, the fact they expect gratefulness, makes they are an arrogant lot right? Do we really want leaders who are arrogant because their arrogance belittle the people and humiliate their dignity. We should get rid of such arrogant bosses because allowing them that arrogance is asking for trouble. The servants grant permission to the leader to get big headed and history has shown the kind of leaders they become, totalitarian, autocratic megalomaniac!
The only words that pleases our BN leaders are probably Hail to the Bosses!
If for once every 50 years or so, the people were to really take the word of the servants that they, the people are the real masters, we wonder if the servants will curse the boss for sacking them huh!
So bosses shall we give it a try this GE13 to take up our servants' words, the people are the bosses eh?
